Foxhills is a family-owned, 4 star hotel and leisure membership club with over 5,000 members in Ottershaw, Surrey.  In addition to 70 spacious hotel bedrooms, fantastic spaces for weddings and events, the club offers a wide range of leisure activities.  Two 18-hole golf courses, a par-3 nine-hole, three restaurants, an award-winning spa and gym and eleven tennis courts are offered. ‘The Pavilion’, a £7m leisure facility with indoor and outdoor swimming pools, four activity spaces offering everything from art to Zumba classes, a deli-style restaurant and crèche make up our fantastic resort.

Our Ideal Applicant: 
  • Level 3 gym instruction / personal trainer qualification (preferred)
  • Experience working in the industry
  • Qualified to teach classes
  • High standard of personal presentation
  • Strong communication skills
  • Confidence to interact with members
  • Team work
  • Emergency response and/or First Aid qualified
  • Aerobics / Body Conditioning / Aqua / studio cycle qualified desirable
  • Experience in boot camps / functional fitness desirable

Primary Responsibilities

  • To be fully knowledgeable about Foxhills Healthspa thus being able to advise clients as to relevance of services according to the client’s requirements
  • To contribute to achieving and exceeding sales targets by link selling and up selling personal training, guest passes, treatments and products.
  • To regularly monitor the booking and appointment system to ensure maximum productivity and elimination of mistakes which could cause inconvenience and dissatisfaction to members.
  • Provide gym inductions to all new members and  re-programmes for members needing to update
  • To promote and carry out personal training for members and guests
  • Oversee the daily running of the gym floor by answering the phone, replying to emails, booking members in for appointments, member interaction and technique correction
  • Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene of the gym equipment and all areas healthspa areas including changing rooms, pool area and spa garden following procedures set out by the Leisure Manager
  • Ensuring all equipment is operational and safe to use. Reporting any issues where necessary
  • Teach and cover classes when scheduled and / or  required
  • Adhere to all the SOP’s and EAP’s in place
  • When requested, to open and close the Healthspa, Youth Club and Tennis Pavilion conducting all opening and closing operational and security duties as detailed by senior management and operational guidelines.
  • To maintain complete discretion and tact in all communications with clients.
  • Communicate effectively with management and colleagues through daily updates in the message book
  • Assist with issues when needed in the whole department (spa, youth club, tennis)
  • To regularly update and monitor booking and appointment system to ensure maximum productivity and elimination of mistakes which could cause inconvenience and dissatisfaction to clients.
  • To provide a consistently high standard of client care ensuring that clients are always made to feel welcome. This will be achieved by communication by telephone, face to face or in writing
  • Handle any client complaints effectively and promptly, ensuring a senior manager is involved and updated to all feedback – negative and positive.
  • Assist with any client or promotional events.

General

  • Always communicate with internal and external customers in a friendly and courteous manner.
  • To maintain a professional standard of dress and appearance, in line with company standards
  • Maintain a safe, clean and tidy work area.
  • To adhere to all statutory requirements regarding fire, health, safety and hygiene.
  • To attend any training sessions as requested and adhere to company policies.
  • Support colleagues in delivering a high standard of customer service.
  • Carry out any additional duties as reasonably requested by the management team or Duty Manager.
  • Promote the Foxhills Collection in a positive light at every opportunity.
